The journal “Outdoor-Magazin” has tested new lightweight tents and has included TATONKA’s Kiruna 2 in the category “Tents of the Year”. This robust tent is suitable for use in the most difficult terrain and withstands all weather conditions. Here the test report:
“The heaviest tent in the test is Tatonka Kiruna 2, a bestseller of the Tatonka range for many years. The Swedish town of Kiruna lies to the north of the Polar Circle and is the starting point for trekking tours in stormy and rainy Lapland. With the tent of the same name you could be comfortable here. Like hardly any other tent, the Tatonka Kiruna 2 was indifferent to the gusts of the wind machine and in the laboratory test showed excellent waterproof values. Thanks to the outer tent that reaches to the ground and the closable ventilation it is also sealed against drifting snow. The inner tent of the Tatonka Kiruna 2 is adequate for sitting out days of rain, it could perhaps be a little higher, and there were no problems at all in erection and dismantling of the tent.
Weather protection
Tatonka Kiruna 2 defies strong winds, marshy ground and storms and provides reliable protection even against snow flurries.
Comfort
There is no seat height but in the tent there is enough room for living, cooking and storing equipment.
Summary: Not an ultra-lightweight construction but a solid, well-designed tent suitable for use in all areas and in all weathers.”
