‘Wandermagazin’ tested the trekking backpack ’Isis 60’! From August to December 2008, ‘Isis 60’ had been put to the ultimate test at all imaginable weather conditions: from light rain to drizzle, torrential rain, snow and stormy winds. The test hikes even longed for an altitude of 900 meters with temperatures between 0 and 29 degree Celsius.
Adjustments in the test
The trekking backpack is designed to fit the female body. Carrying comfort and adjustability will convince particularly during longer trekking tours and a pack loaded with heavy equipment. Even stronger women with broader shoulders can easily adjust ‘Isis 60’ to their personal requirements. The back length is adjustable between size XS and XL – several test persons suggested the difference in size as a very useful feature. Even while you are wearing the backpack, the load control straps can be adjusted. This is perfect load control even on rough terrain.
Features in the test
Particularly during multiple daytrips, the soft hip belt and shoulder strap are extremely comfortable features. Even at a weight up to 20 kg, you get that carrying comfort you will enjoy. When adjusting the hip belt individually, perfect load control is certain. The integrated back ventilation prevents moisture due to perspiration even at warm weather or physical endeavours.
Usability in the test
‘Isis 60’ has been tested for three weeks in one go. There were no signs of abrasion after this durability test. The test persons evaluated Isis 60’s entire feature set as very practical and user friendly. Even if the backpack is fully loaded, the zips run perfectly well. And should the backpack be strapped on already, the lower side pockets are in easy reach for the 1 Litre drink bottle. Great design!
Off-road in the test
The outer material of ‘Isis 60’ is water-repellent and easily withstands light drizzle. Only during extreme weather conditions, the integrated rain cover will come in action. The strong signal colour of the rain cover will keep the hiker visible for cars and paramedics, even at restricted visibility. The base material is of Texamid and has proven to be extremely robust, especially when it comes to sharp-edged boulders and gravel. Another benefit of the ‘Isis 60’ is that it stands alone safely. Keep in mind; don’t place the backpack on damp surfaces for too long.
