Open Factory – now one year on: TATONKA opens up its production premises for visitors

One year ago TATONKA officially opened its factory doors in the company-owned plant in Vietnam for all outdoor enthusiasts who place their trust in the TATONKA brand and who would like to see production methods. In the meantime we have welcomed about 30 visitors who were able to see for themselves on site our high quality and social standards.
One year after the opening of “Open Factory”, TATONKA, as manufacturer of outdoor gear, is now able to show a positive balance: Numerous persons were interested in a look behind the scenes of their favorite label TATONKA and to see the birthplace of their rucksacks, tents and numerous outdoor accessories. Visitors were able to gain impressions of the production processes for individual products and of the local working conditions. Not only end customers but also representatives of the textile industry were welcomed by the TATONKA Team and surprise guests were also present at the opening of the factory gates.
Hi-technology production with qualified craftsmanship
The TATONKA Production Plant Mountech certainly offers visitors a comprehensive insight into our high-tech processes. Numerous work steps from the selection of design through to the packaged finished product are carried out. Diverse and versatile are also the top quality machines that are necessary for these processes. At the same time, top level and qualified craftsmanship is provided, for example, for padding of shoulders or hip belts.
Constructive criticism is expressly required!
Visitors took many interesting impressions home with them – and at the same time, the TATONKA company gained many constructive ideas: Suggestions, for example, are that the visitor times could be more flexible or that a second visitor day could be introduced or that the tour should begin earlier. Many visitors also expressed the wish that TATONKA products could be purchased “ex works” and also that their damaged products could be repaired on site.
