Kings of Trekking: TATONKA Bison and Tana

The bison is the heraldic animal and name giver of TATONKA. The word “Tatonka” bison and symbolizes strength, reliability and continuity. It is no wonder, therefore, that the premium category trekking rucksack is named after its robust patron: TATONKA Bison is designed for loads over 20 kg and for long trekking tours. Its partner Tana has the same characteristics and is designed to take into account the female anatomy.
It is reliable, robust and weighs no more than necessary for its strength. TATONKA Bison is to a great extent made of the extremely tear and abrasion-resistant material Cordura. Its compartments follow the classic division in the main section and the top and bottom sections, which means it is easy to pack and to know where everything will be found. The wide front opening is provided with a zip fastener and thus guarantees easy access to all your tour utensils at all times.

When you are on tour for several days then there is quite a lot of gear to take with you. The weight is distributed optimally across your back by means of the X1 carrying system: The X-form structure spreads part of the load weight to the hip strap, anatomically formed and thus very comfortable: part of the weight is therefore taken off the back. This effect is also supported by the load control straps and the soft, ergonomically formed shoulder straps. They are easily and individually adjusted such that the carrying system can be fitted comfortably to suit different body sizes. The back padding is available in three different hardness levels and the Bison itself is also available as 75 or 90 liter model and as the special EXP model. The test portal “Koffertests” has tested the Bison thoroughly: here is the test report.

For lady trekking enthusiasts, TATONKA offers Tana 60. In respect of long life and material properties it has all the benefits of the Bison model for men, but with the added advantage that it is designed for the female anatomy. For example, the back length can be adjusted, the shoulder straps are more rounded and the hip strap has a more conical shape.
