One-man tents from Tatonka: reliable accommodation for solo tours

Being alone in nature, enjoying the peace and quiet and mastering challenges of your own choosing is the essence of outdoor life for quite a few people. Whether trekking, mountain or bike tour – on a solo adventure you are traveling with little luggage. A one-man tent is your ideal accommodation – it is lightweight, offers you a sheltered place to sleep even in adverse weather conditions and keeps your equipment dry.

What should you look out for when buying a 1-person tent?

A tent for 1 person is a comparatively minimalist accommodation. As it is designed to be transported in a rucksack, it should weigh as little as possible and have a small pack size. Nevertheless, when choosing a trekking tent, you should make sure that the length of the tent and the size of the vestibule meet your requirements. Depending on how tall you are and how much equipment you want to store, these spaces should be large enough.

1-person tunnel tents from Tatonka – lightweight and cleverly equipped

Our 1-man tents are designed as tunnel tents. The inner and outer tents are connected, making them easy and uncomplicated to pitch. The trekking tents are cleverly designed with a large and a small pole arch: The rear section is enlarged, allowing even tall people to stretch out for a long time. The tents have a vestibule with a side entrance. The inner tent with ventilator and separately closable mosquito window in the entrance provides a pleasant indoor climate and reduces condensation. A washing line in the inner tent keeps things tidy.

Tatonka offers three trekking tents with the same construction but made of different materials:

The Koli from our Allround series is robust and durable and is suitable for tours of all kinds. It weighs 1.7 kilograms.

If you camp often and are also out and about in more extreme conditions, choose the Kyrkja from our Expert series, which weighs in at 1.45 kilograms.

The Kyrkja LT from the Expert series saves even more weight thanks to the even lighter flysheet material and an inner tent made entirely of mesh material – it weighs in at 1.34 kilograms. Thanks to its optimized ventilation, this ultralight trekking tent is particularly suitable for summer tours.

High-tech material for a long durability

The outer tent of the Koli is made of four-layer PU-coated polyester with a water column of 8,000 mm on the inside. The material is color-fast and has good UV resistance.

For the outer tents of the Kyrkja and Kyrkja LT, we use silicone-coated nylon 6.6 ripstop fabric with a fiber thickness of 30 and 20 denier respectively. This waterproof material is very light, extremely tear-resistant and extremely durable.

The waterproof groundsheet of the tents is made of PU-coated nylon with a water column of 10,000 mm. This ensures that no water can penetrate the tent, even under pressure from lying in it.

The inner tents are made of air-permeable nylon material (particularly light in the Expert tents), while high-quality bug beater mesh with over 1,000 holes/inch² is used for the entrances and mosquito windows.

Tent poles are made of lightweight and break-resistant aluminum alloys, in the Expert models in Ultra Light design.
