Hiking rucksacks are an indispensable part of your hiking equipment. Whether for a day hike, a via ferrata tour or a hut hike: hiking backpacks support you with well thought-out carrying systems and functional features.
Hiking backpacks are equipped with comfortable carrying systems. Mesh back constructions or back padding with ventilation channels ensure good ventilation of the back and therefore a high level of carrying comfort, even on strenuous tours. The shoulder straps and hip belt are comfortably padded and can be adjusted, as can the chest strap. This means you can position the rucksack firmly on your back and it won’t wobble back and forth, even on steep ascents and descents.
In addition to the main compartment, our hiking backpacks always have several outer pockets and gear loops to store equipment in a practical way – for example side pockets for a drinking bottle or a pocket on the hip belt for a smartphone or sunglasses. A hiking pole holder is also part of the equipment as well as a hydration system preparation and a rain cover.
Tatonka hiking backpacks are also made from durable materials and have a high-quality finish. They are made from tear-resistant, PU-coated polyamide fabrics and have a dirt and water-repellent, PFAS-free impregnation.
The size of your hiking backpack depends on the activity you are planning. A hiking backpack with a volume of approx. 20 liters, such as our Hike Pack 22, is ideal for day hikes. For two to three-day hikes or hut tours, choose a hiking rucksack with a volume of approx. 30 liters, such as the Hike Pack 32 or the Storm 30 RECCO.
If, on the other hand, you want to go hiking for one or even several weeks, you will need a backpack with a larger volume: a touring backpack for men or a trekking backpack for men.
