A tarp is a piece of canvas with grommets and guy loops designed to accommodate tarp poles, tent stakes, and guy lines. Tarps serve as sunshades, rain covers, or tent substitutes. Different materials and sizes are tailored to various usage scenarios. The tarp is set up using tarp poles or, for example, by attaching it to trees. A small tarp can also be set up using trekking poles or branches. Tatonka tarps are designed for camping and outdoor activities. They are not suitable as permanent sunshades on a patio or balcony.

Cotton-blend tarps are ideal for camping trips in hot, sunny regions. They can be set up in front of a tent, trailer, or RV to provide a breezy, shaded area. The material is highly UV-resistant, even under intense and prolonged sunlight, making it very durable.

For camping trips in temperate regions with changeable weather, as well as for bushcraft enthusiasts, Tarp 1, 2, or 4 made of polyester fabric are ideal as sunshades or rain shelters. The polyester material features multiple PU coatings and has a water column rating of 8,000 mm. The seams are waterproof-taped.
